Location recce to the south coast

So, we only have 3 days left before we head down south to the beautiful Sussex coast to begin filming and bringing Siren to life.

A lot has happened over the last week and of course, as is the nature of low budget filmmaking, there is lots still to do. I have such a talented and supporting cast and crew though that I know we are going to end up with a beautiful film.

Production Diary 1

Three weeks to go!

I’m currently in the process of storyboarding the film and writing up a shot list, this process has got me thinking about the story in a deeper way. Analyzing each detail and action, each bit of dialogue, and thinking about what I want to portray in each shot.

During this process I have looked to other directors. Firstly looking at the films of Pedro Almodóvar and I found this quote by him which I really like:

Meet the crew Q&A

Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do?
I’m a freelance film/video editor. I mostly work in factual broadcast and film.

However I try and keep involved in smaller more ‘local’ stuff like short films and music videos, because when you work with such a small crew/group of people it can be a nice break from the more hefty (but equally rewarding) experience of editing for broadcast.
