Meet the crew Q&A
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background?
I’m 25 years old, currently a music producer & film music composer living in West London. I have a vast amount of experience working in music spanning 5-6 years.
How did you get into composing for films?
I got involved with making the OST for First Bite, which is Louise Marie Cooke’s 3rd short film. It then got on to winning me Best Composer at the great Underwire Film Festival, then basically got me in to knowing the lovely people at Imagem Creative Services which is a fab music publishing company, whom through them had the recent opportunity to score for one of Tim Roth’s new movie “The Liability”, which will be out in cinemas this may.
Whats the difference between making music for yourself and for films?
There are many differences. Doing music for film is such an intense discipline in all areas. From creating the music to your communication with the rest of crew, film work has that one stuck deadline that needs to be met all times. Where as when making music through your solo or band project it’s more of a steady process, as the music relies on your vision to come through instinctively.
What composers do you admire and respect?
In terms of film: John Murphy, Clint Mansell, Thomas Newman, John Williams, Danny Elfman, John Carpenter
If you could only watch one film for the rest of your life what would it be?
That’s a tough one – I’m gonna go with American Beauty because it made an ongoing influence on me in my teens.
What film do you wish you could have scored?
28 days later
